Custom Stitching

Custom stitching adds a touch of class to your handcrafted holster. Our custom stitched holsters are typically two layers of leather glued and the stitched together. This is not just a decorative stitch, although, if you prefer a single layer backer, decorative stitching can still be added to your holster. You will need to make a note for your preference ONLY if you want a single layer backer.
 
You can also add the optional Kydex stiffener to the sweat shield. This 0.06" Kydex layer sits between the two layers of leather (available for Horse hide holsters ONLY) and adds rigidity to your sweat shield. This is only available for dual layer horse hide leather backers, meaning if you opt for a decorative stitched single layer backer, we cannot install the Kydex layer on your holster. Not available for magazine carriers. I personally think the added stiffness is best suited for OWB (outside the waistband) holsters. For IWB (inside the waistband) holsters, I think it adds too much bulk and stiffness and you risk having a holster that is uncomfortable. That said, if you want it, or need it, it is an option.
 
We use size 277 bonded nylon thread that will last a lifetime and it comes in a variety of colors (see options). If you don't see the color you want, please give us a call to see if we can get the color you want.
 
Note: This is an add-on service for your custom holster. Fee is for custom stitching only. Price is per item. If you have a holster and mag carrier and you want custom stitching on each, you will need to add custom stitching for both items or select the proper holster model from the drop down options.
